Jimny Newbie from North Wales. was created by Martinw
Hi All, Thought I'd introduce myself......Martin, a newbie on the Jimny scene.

Been looking through the forum as a guest for a few weeks and it's brilliant, full of good info and knowledgeable people.

I've been after a Jimny for a while but circumstances never really allowed to have one and be able to use it but now I can. Picked up a red 54 plate which to be fair is in pretty good condition all round. It has about 114K on the clock, tidy inside and out and runs pretty sweet. There was no service history with it so a full all round oil and filter change was done, surprisingly the plugs looked new. Only thing I've not done myself yet is the rear diff oil, the drain and filler plugs are stuck well so it'll have to go in for that to be done. I threw a new clutch in it as a matter of course and a nice set of winter tyres for now.

There is a small oil leak behind the front offside wheel (ball joint) so will need to get that sorted too. I've lifter the rear boot carpet and found a bit of rust but I'm still yet to take out the back seats and dig right round in there to find out the full extent. Fingers crossed it wont need a whole new floor, just a few patch ups.

Future plans are to add a nice rookfrack, if anyone has any recommendations that would be great. Probably stick a light-bar on the front of the roofrack too. Maybe next year I'd like to lift it a couple of inches and add a snorkel (that'll be just for show ha ha ha)

Cheers, Martin.
