I managed with std alloys and no offset with 215's, no catching other than full lock at parking speeds and only a touch.
I wanted a broader footprint and went to -30mm and with now, new suspension, they are fine.
So, std is ok and anywhere up to -30 should be ok if your suspension is in good nick or lifted.

When i bought the vehicle all the tyres were perished and split in the treads due to being stood so the dealer i bought it off had 4 new tyres fitted. I just want a set of steel wheels with a/t tyres fitted
