Lower gearing. was created by starletman
I have read all about rock lobster boxes and putting 410's in a Jimny. But is it possible to change the gearing in a Jimny transfer box without buying the reduced gear sets.I only use the car for trials so never go over about 15-20mph.In sense is it possible to make high range low range and low range ultra low range.

Depending on the year of it you could swap diffs and transfer boxes?

Here's all the gearing ratio information - www.bigjimny.com/mediawiki/index.php?tit...erential_information

(I've got a VVT model and swapped to an older transfer box and diffs to correct the gearing for larger tyres)

I'd say trying to find a second hand Rocklobster is your best bet to be honest. They come up every now and then.

If Richard had one built up ready to post with new gears in to make it nice and factory quiet, I might be persuaded to part with mine for the right money. I'd want to have the new one delivered for fitting before I'd let mine go.

I will also have a 4:1 Rocklobster available once Rockwatt can fit in building a nice 5:1 for me.

So I'm guessing he doesn't have any built up, ready to go then?
