Front fog lamp alternatives (LED bars, etc.)

I got really fed up with the large 2nd generation front bumper (2006-2012). So I obtained the much smaller 1st generation front bumper (1998-2005) to swap over.
However, the specific situation with my 63 kW diesel Jimny is that the mounting position of the right front fog lamp, if used in the 1st generation front bumper, would collide with the intercooler which is positioned there.
Therefore, I would not be able to use the right front fog lamp if I mounted the smaller front bumper.
And I do not want to abandon fog lamps, because I live in the region which usually experiences dense fogs and smogs for up to half a year (October - April).
This is the front bumper model which I want to install:
So, does anyone have an alternative idea what to do?
Are there some much shallower fog lamps to put in the fog lamp holes?
What about some small horizontal LED bars to mount somewhere on / in that front bumper, to function as fog lamps? How to LED perform in fog anyway?

Can't answer the first part of your post but LEDs work well in fog.
Here is a link with some info:

I have an LED light bar mounted across the roof rack on mine.
Works great for off-roading and doesn’t interfere with the front fog lights.
Just an idea.

I have LED Fog Lights mounted in front of the radiator grill, bought the mounts from eBay, and the fog lights from a local Land Rover specialist. Work extremely

Mounted that high they are driving lights, not fog lights.. Fog lights need to be as low as possible to cut under the mist and reduce reflection from the water droplets.
Led,s are often daylight white (6000k) whereas fog lights using incandescent lamps are around 3400k, giving a muchmore yellow light and reduce the glare the driver gets.
I have xenons in my everyday car and in fog they reflect off the mist something terrible! I'm sure oncoming cars can see me clearly though.
