Yay! more of my favorite cold stuff... Didnt want to risk the brand new van today so got the jimny out the garage and loaded some tools up.

The beach on my way to work:

Decent start at the sands centre in Carlisle testing the emergency lights. Nice and quiet in there (apart from a few die-hards in the gym)...

Then onwards to Wigton for a job at the factory. Sun was out so picked up a few icicles...

and back in the garage (via a local lane for a change)...

Bashed that off before it froze there ;-)

Tomorrow is out West Cumbria so will take the Jim instead of the van as its still snowing :-)

not quite... there was a few dullards out and about in Carlisle. Saw 1x Astra van with the handbrake stuck on driving past me, 1x transit van crashed into a corsa and 1x 7.5ton LGV sideways on the only bridge over the river in town.

Heading to Wigton roads were better, but there was someone in a BMW pseudo 4x4 6 series thing that insisted on doing 30mph tops on the main road to West Cumbria. Was probably the right speed for that car on those conditions, but at least pull over when theres more than 15 vehicles stuck behind you! HGVs need to get some speed up to crest hills in those conditions. They dont realize the problems they cause!

Plenty of snow here, had a great day slithering about. Towed 5 stuck cars (all VAG cars, not sure if that's a coincidence?)

I agree with people driving too slow. Lots of the hold ups caused by people getting stuck on hills would be solved if they approached said hills at more than 15mph. When you have no traction, momentum is your best friend!

Also surprised at the number of ill-prepared people. Stuck in a snow drift walking around in tracksuits and trainers, no gloves or hat, no tow rope, no idea where the screw-in towing eye is kept. Simple things. And only 1 person tipped me for towing them. I thought that kind of thing was pretty standard?
