You'll get arround 10mm height on diffs and a bit narrower tyre. Jimny is light and doesnt really need wide tyres so.. sounds good.

Mostly pros as far as I can see! We run BFG muds in that size on a Defender 110 pickup and they are pretty good on that lumbering thing so should be great on a Jimny.

Why not go the whole hog and get a set of 7.50 r16s on ? My old 90 pickup had them and it was essentially unstoppable unless you were being stupid with it.

I think a decent 7.50 16 would be the ultimate tyre on a Jimny, but tyre choice is now really limited in that size; either remoulds or tyres designed for heavy utility vehicles. None are particularly suited to a Jimny. 235/85r16 is supposedly the modern equivalent, but is noticeably wider. Still better than a 10.50 though...

Cool think that I might go for it......have just had hd shafts and cvs fitted and also got 416 rock lobster in so should be able to handle them alright
