Which Jimny f4 first timer? was created by Haddock
Hello all.
Short story. I'm in the market for a cheap 4x4 and the Jimny seems to fit the match.
I'm from Denmark and at the time there is around 10-12 Jimny's on the market. They are either from 1999-2002 or 2005-2006.
I can read there has been a face-lift around 2005? The early ones have a different front bumper and 4x4 gearshifter from the newer ones.
The prices in Denmark is quite high (4500£ for the ones from 2000 and 7000£ and up for the 2005/06 models).
I don't have any plans for offroading in the car, but I would like to add some coolness to it over time.
IS there any experts in here that can tell me where my money is best spend?
Kind regards
Haddock

The gearbox on the 2005 on push button 4x4 system has issues with bearing failure in at least early ones to 2009 ish from what I can work out. They do have the slightly more powerful VVT engines though.
I think I'd stick to the pre 2005 model if you can find one without rust. You need to read the buying guide on here though to check for rust though as it hides behind the headlamps etc. It's a bit sneaky!

Hi.. The prices in Denmark and Germany are quite high when it comes to Jimny's. So importing one probably wont save you much money.
