Why there is big diff look between 2 inches and 3 inches lift?

Why there is a big diff look between 2 inches and 3 inches?

Does any one know why?

It would primarily be 2 factors. Vehicle weight and a combination of a vendor's free height and spring rate of the springs.

In other words, installing the same manufacturer's 2 inch or 3 inch (approximate) lift springs on a fully loaded Jimny (steel bumpers, winch, underarmor, etc.) vs a stock Jimny, they won't sit the same. Add to that the technical data variations between manufacturers and you add even more variation into the equation.

I understand the vehicle weight cause a diff look.

But in the same situation(Vehicle weight and vendor's free height), I saw the 3 inch lift is quiet bigger the 2 inch by measuring the length from tyre to fender trim.

What cause the difference? could it be springs only? or is my measurement wrong?

Okay. Here I go

Springs are made in different rates to match different type of vehicle weights. Like, a Diesel Jimny weighs around 100kgs more than an equal petrol Jimny. This means it will need stiffer springs. Especially on the front axle. Same goes when fitting a winch bumper and winch.

Diff? Differential? Different?

The only way of comparing two different springs is by knowing all details about them. Like free length, spring rate and such.
And this is why I recommend people only buy quality springs from known brands. they usually come with all these details listed.

I am still curious about the length in attached(the red line). (this car has 2 inch lift)


Most of 3 inch spring will be more than double of the length , so the 3 inch lift look much taller than 2 inch although there is 1 inch difference.
