Home made boot floor was created by schofield
Hi guys, new to the forum, recently bought a jimny which needed a bit of work doing to it, first the 4x4 light was flashing, so replaced the vacume hubs with Manuels, I noticed what appeared to be a slight rust patch in the boot but after further inspection realised it was a major rust patch, so I ripped out the old floor, literally pulled the old floor out by hand, doing so I snapped a plastic elbow off the sender unit, so had to replace that aswel, only £30 for Used one from the breakers yard, anyway, replaced the floor with 3mm steel plate, seem welded all the way round, I didn't even have to remove the fuel tank, just placed a wet towel over the top of it and had a mate keeping a eye on things with a fire extinguisher to hand. Got the job finished this morning, now just to cut a nice piece of plywood to finish it off. I won't be replacing the back seats, decided to do away with them and have a Van jimny lol. I will try to add some pics. Cheers John.
