Is it rude to say make your own?

Not rude, but sadly not always practical/feasible
I also like the look of the ones on Jimnybits and they are on my wish list, but quite low down at the moment. I would love to have the time and ability to make them myself, but my resources at home are not much more than the average DIY toolbox, and my welding skills (poor to start with) are pretty rusty. They would never look as good! With the help of a friend with far better skills, pillar drill, press etc, we made some bolt-on rear recovery points for another Jimny, and, for the cost of buying them, the time and effort would have been better spent on other mods.
I am lucky to be able to spend a bit of money from time to time on the Jimny, but not enough time, so buying, rather than making, is sometimes my sensible option. I leave the cleverer stuff to those who can. Reading about your turbo, and even the possibility of air suspension in a recent post, I have 2 Jimnys in my head - the one I would like to build, looking very much like yours, and the one I will actually build, which is very much milder!
In the meantime, I read your posts pretending I could be doing the same

I would love to make some of my own design but that's way beyond me and my skill set.
The seems little options on the net and I do like the looks of the Jimnybits ones.
I would be tempted to get an extra bar added to the outside to put a little more distance between me and the trees.
After using Jim bob pretty hard this year, I have a few mods in mind to do over the winter to be ready for next season.

I like the Jimnybits ones because they seem to have made an attempt to preserve as much of the internal break-over angles as possible.
