hi i have searched the forums but couldnt find any info.
i have a problem at the moment i am trying to replace the alternator drive belt but need to remove the pas belt first on a 07 jimny vvt the problem i have is the tensioner adjustment bolt wont undo do you know what size it is supposed to be? and if anyone has any ideas as to how to undo it as its recessed into the tensioner and has little space around it?

Yes, 12mm. Try an offset ring spanner or socket on a 1/4 inch ratchet or T-bar

You can gain a bit more space for access by removing the bolts at each side of the top of the radiator and tilting the radiator forward an inch or so.

thanks all i have done all tbese things prior to asking for help it appears that the bolt head was less than 12mm after the dealership fixed the blown crank pully and tighted it with a gorrilla. sso 12mm no longer fits even a 6 sided socket.
kind of stuffed at mo horse shoe nail, etc.

Try an 11mm or a knackered bolt extractor
