16 inch wheels was created by mikegarcar
Im sure the questions have been asked many times so the Jimny Re build is coming on well now and need to decide on wheels.

So I have 2 2 inch spring lift and 2 inch body lift what wheel tyres should i go for Im planning on doing some green laning nothing to severe.

So should it be 235/75/15 or get some 16 inch grand Vit wheels and go for 235/70/16 what is everyone's thoughts.

Thanks

You need to think about your gearing if going that big and get a Rocklobster from Rockwatt.

I would stick with 235/75/15's or if you really want 16" wheels go with 205/80/16's.

You don't really need more than that for anything I don't think with a Jimny.

You'll also want to consider uprating your front shafts and CV's as you might start to break them!

I tend to like 16" rims as I think the tyre choices are a bit better but that may be subjective and I tend to like wider wheels but then I don't go mud trampolining either. I expect that does not help the OP though.

Thats what I seem to see is there are more 16 inch possibilities, and to be honest I dont want to go silly with Rock lobster boxes etc at the moment. but would just like a slightly wider stance than my present 205/75/15.

On the other hand I tend to like having a big tyre sidewall and a 15" rim means that for a given overall diameter there is more sidewall.

I see so many alloy rims with low profile tyres that have been badly kerbed or whatever partly because the rim is too wide or the sidewall too small

Get some offset rims for a wider stance ;)
