Trailer hubs to suit jimny wheels? was created by Riccy
Hi,
Ive been fiddling about with my small, un-braked camping trailer trying to get it to ride level after ive lifted the jimny.
I have noticed that if it was to have bigger wheels/tyres to match the jimny's 215/75r15, that would solve my problem and help with the trailer's approach/departure angles when off-road (and match the car nicely).
The trailer currently has 4x4" PCD, hub centric wheels which stick out just far enough for a jimny wheel to fit on, but obviously have the wrong stud/PCD to work. Im not sure what the stub axle shaft size is, probably about 30mm.
Is there a way of using wheel spacers to adapt from one to the other, or a stub axle/hub available with the correct PCD?
Ive even thouht about putting a jimny rear axle onto the trailer as a way of doing it, however the weight would probably be an issue then.
Any ideas welcome...
Riccy.

You can get 5 stud suspension units though they will have brakes, but you don't need to connect them. These would give you an easier way to get spacers to Jimny. The issue then comes with the cumulative offset of the hubs and spacers and getting wheels to compensate. Possible but not simple.

Thanks 11/60,
it sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen then. i would ideally want to use standard jimny rims on the trailer, which would give me an extra 2 spare tyres in theory, and try to match the track of the trailer to the car.
How does the jimny rear hub come apart? i was wondering about making a simple axle and fitting the standard jimny rear brake drum/hub, but would it need to have a shaft of some sort in place of where the driveshaft would normally be?
Ive done the kingpin job on the front so know how that goes together, but have yet to tackle the back axle.
Thanks,
Riccy.
