Ok,

Need some advice. I'm looking for a new radiator cap for my M13 Jimny engine, but can't tell whether I should fit a 0.9 or 1.1.

Can anyone clarify what pressure rating should be used on what engines? I don't have specific drawings to refer to and can't find anything to confirm it. Some eBay listings say a 0.9 is for 98 to 00, then others list the same vehicles in the compatible vehicle lists. I could email them, but I'd rather get advice from some clued up Jimny owners.

Cheers

0.9 Bar on mine. 2005 VVT. :)
All of the jap cars i have owned have had the 0.9 as standard.
If the is a option i would always go low. If the system is under too much
pressure its better to have the cap release it than blow a hose. ;)

Thanks guys,

That's cleared things up nicely.

Mine is 07 M13 VVT, so it looks like I might have to buy both of them.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration£33.55 for a radiator cap on eBay!

Surely there must be a better deal on these. This is part of the reason I don't own a sports car.

Ok,

So I dug out the manual for the M13 engine and there's a section on the radiator cap. It doesn't differentiate between VVT and non-VVT models, but it looks like it should be a 1.1 cap.

Also, interestingly, the overflow bottle cap has an orientation also. Not sure what the purpose of that is other than correct hose routing angle.
