Trying at best not to sound like an idiot is there a was to lu ribcage the thrust bearing on the clutch if so what best to use.

There's no easy way to do it. It normally involves spraying some oil in and hoping you get more on the bearing than on the clutch.

The only way to fix it is to take it out. Obviously the gearbox has to come out. You may as well change it and the clutch then.
