Would I be able to tow a braked 900kg trailer tent?

You will feel it on long inclines but you will be fine though as mentioned above if you have none standard uncorrected gearing you will suffer more

This subject has been covered many times.I cant go into the ins and outs again but pulling a braked trailer rated at 1400kg even if its empty is illegal with a jimmny.I know its stupid but thats the way it is,somethng to do with the trailers stated gross weight.

Not true if you have a full trailer license or are old enough to not need one. However if you passed recently, haven't done the trailer test and want to take advantage of the 'towing up to the unladen weight of the vehicle' rules then the gross weight of the trailer would need to be de-rated to less than the unladen weight of the Jimny.

No it isn't. It used to be, but it isn't anymore. I can quite legally tow my big 12ft twin deck sheep trailer with a mam of 3500kg with my Jimny if I want to, I just can't carry more than 150kg in it. The limiting factor is the gross train weight of the towing vehicle for what you are able to tow, as long as you don't exceed the mam of the trailer if it is lower than that allowed by the vehicle train weight.
