Hi Guys I am new to this site and also this is my first Jimny. I have a 2006 model which I bought recently and am slowly going through all the mechanicals. I am experiencing a relatively harsh ride and estimate that the car has got the original shockers installed. Most of my driving is on bitumen however I do some offroad about 5%. I am looking at replacing my shocks so would appreciate some advice on which ones work well. I currently have the standard springs but may get a 2 inch lift at a later date.

The 2" Trailmaster lift kit has many happy customers who've reported good things on here and elsewhere about a better than standard ride. It's not cheap but perhaps it's worth killing two birds with one stone and getting that.

I will second that... ive got the 2" trailmaster 'comfort' full kit and it does what it says. I did swap to castor-correction polybushes all round at the same time so hard to say which made the most difference but is definatley better on the bumps
further benefits to smooth riding were found with 30mm wheel spacers and 2" body lift which seems to help (though dont know why). Tyres at about 20psi also helps (215/75R15 BFGs).
None of the above helped my wallet however
and no matter what you do it will never be as comfy as a normal car on the road, but can go (almost) anywhere!
