The engine management light has come on my suzki jimny 1.3. Connecting the vehicle up to a code reader reveals:-

P0420 CnF Mod 11-Catalyst System Efficiency below threshold bank

Apart from having to replace the catalytic converter can anybody tell me if this may be some other common fault on the sytem?

Faulty Lambda sensor perhaps? I've never tried to test one, but if you have a multimeter there are plenty of tutorials on Google showing how to do it.

You can't properly test a lambda sensor element, only the heater. Given the low cost of an aftermarket replacement and the fact that they do get contaminated its worth spending out for a new one.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
