1.6 conversion clutch problems was created by NZ Zook
Hi everyone,
I have been having problems with my clutch so asking if anyone has found a good and permanent fix for it.
I am running a 1.6 vitara engine with the jimny 1.3 gear box, i has the 6mm adapter plate between the two and this is where the problem seams to be caused from. When the clutch was new it worked fine but no as the clutch had work slightly (still about 85% of clutch left) the clutch wont disengage. This happened a while ago so i took the box out, put a washer behind the ball that the clutch fork sits on and gave the fork a little bend as it was catching on the bell housing. This fixed the problem for a short while but as soon as clutch wore down a little more the problem is back. Any help on this situation will be great and thank you in advance.
Two options i am not keen on, 1.keep replacing for new clutch and 2.keep adjusting fork every time i drive it.

Are you using the vitara clutch and fly wheel? What vitara engine are you using?

I'm pretty sure it's the G1.6 engine with G1.3 gear box and clutch, not sure what the fly wheel is tho. I will double check the engine number when I can. Thanks

No I think because it is hinged from one side once it needs adjusting past a certain point it doesn't give even pressure onto the fibers of the clutch stoping it from being able to disengage.

Strange one. I have done 3 of these conversions now without this problem. Maybe the conversion plate from waterbabies is thinner so this doesn't happen?
