On the ebay when you are checking for bits for the Jimny and you fill in the compatibility details for a part what is the difference between :-

I never bother with that. I just search "Jimny" and take it from there.
I wanted trim clips for my Junior a few months ago and just looked under trim clips to look for the fir tree ones I needed and clips for the grille and so on.
In fact when I bought centre armrests I actually went for ones for other makes and/or "universal".
4WD, 4x4 seems all the same to me.

The reason I ask is that I was looking for a clutch cable and the price range is vast. Anyway, I filled out the compatability details using 4x4 in the cars detail and it came up good, and then changed it to 4WD and it did not. So I was wondering what the difference was.

I think t was historically used especially in the press to differentiate between say an audi or subaru with an all weather drive system and jeeps and land rovers etc with an all terrain drive system. I could be wrong.
