1.6 liana engine available- do I go for it?!

I've been mulling over an engine swap for ages- my M13A has 118k on it and the economy is pretty rubbish although it runs well (if slow)

There is a 2003 liana engine on eBay in my town from a breakers for £225 with 68k on it. They have v good feedback and a video showing the engine running before it was removed from the car. I would offer less than this for a cash sale and he wouldn't need to pack it etc.

My current engine is fine really but I fancy more power and possibly better mpg with the bigger lump. I know I can swap most of the Jimny ancillaries across.

How much should I budget for other parts? My mechanic charges £25 an hour..... Any idea how long the swap should take?

The benefits far out-way the costs, more power, better economy, lower mileage engine, and many more advantages I'm sure. And if your economy is currently poor, then the the fuel saving will pay for the swap...eventually ;)

These are the answers I wanted to hear ha!

Any ideas re what else I need and labour time?

Once it's in I assume it should be as reliable as a standard car?

I'm using 5-10% more fuel since swapping, but it's worth it for the performance. I guess it might get better economy driven at the same speed...

Thanks Busta- I only get about 170 max to a tank! Does yours run well, not lumpy etc?

What new bit did you need to buy?

Sent the guy an offer for £175 so waiting to hear what he says :)
