If your jimny was an earlier g13b with the metal box ecu instead of the plastic one there are less common parts. I know yours (Chris) is the later. Handy having both models though so you can compare for sure before going ahead

I removed the loom from a Mk1 Nova Gte and adapted it to a Mk2 dash when I re shelled it into a Mk2 shell. I used masking tape on all wires as a label describing what it came off so laying it back in the car , routing it and re connecting it was easy.
I had to splice some bits together due to the plugs changing over the years but it wasn't tricky.
I've since seen Edd China use the same idea.
That's my top tip to making a loom swap easy.
The Jimny will be easier as nothing much changed on the switch gear or dials so you won't have that issue.
I would swap the whole loom to make it simple and work first time, even if it might seem a little more work. If you are a little unsure of the job you know that you have just moved the loom from one shell to another, so there's nothing to work out.
I hope you can get in small spaces at funny angles as some things like dash screws are often awkward to get at!

I wouldn't bother with the m13 engine I hate mine, can't wait to get shot of it, my mates all run the g13's and they all run rings round mine and they have bigger tyres too

Well I'm stunned by the response guys... Kirkynut sowed the seed and then somehow I'm looking at a total transplant!!!!!
Hadn't considered that one at all, especially as there's nothing at all wrong with my single cam motor. Was simply a case of what to keep and what to sell....
Now I can spend the winter weekends carefully removing and labelling wiring looms, stripping and refurbishing a variety of other interchangeable bits, etc, etc...oh what joy...thanks a bunch Rob...Mate!!!!!
Thanks also to Ian the Wombat for your very kind offer of help....what you doing in the spring my friend!??
Oh s**t....where do I start???
