Jimny not well! was created by Solas
As you may know I am new to jimnys, got my first a couple of months ago and love it! First mod was out with the back seat and boxed it in for carrying tools etc, then tinted windows to help prevent prying eyes. Last week I saw an ad for off-road wheels and spacers! Ah I want them for the winter for on fields as I am into metal detecting and spend a lot of time on fields. OK deal done got the wheels and fitted them today to see how they would look. And wow! They look great! BUT on starting the car the ABS light was on! Ok maybe I disturbed a sensor? Off with the wheels to have a look, feck me! To broken pipes of some sort! Don't know how or why, they were rusted really badly so obviously had been friagile and maybe jacking the motor up had caused it? Not sure but it's happened anyway. After much searching and reading on the forum I am sure they are vacuum pipes for the hubs? So now what? Read a great and very informative post from kirkynut about converting the hubs to manual, what I need to know is this the road I go down next I am not sure as I don't understand what the vacuum hubs do as opposed to manual hubs?

The wheels look so good really transforms the jimny from shopping car to truck.
Hopefully someone can help with your technical issues.

The vacuum pipes operate the vacuum hubs when you engage 4wd. Bust pipes mean no 4wd and a flashing 4wd green light. Either replace the pipes or fit manual hubs. With manual hubs you will have to engage 4wd on the transfer box and get out and loch the hubs manually

Manual hubs you have to get out of the jimny and lock them the push button ones use the vacuum to lock the hubs (front wheels)from inside the jimny, I'm not a mechanic but I don't think it will be much to get your vacuum pipes sorted
