Feel a bit dumb posting this, but I've about reached the end of my tether with it

Does anyone know if it's possible to separate the sliding portion from the fixed portion? There's a stop of some sort at fully forward position, and likewise at fully rearwards position. Try as I might, I can't see anything obvious

Or is the restriction a safety feature embedded at manufacture, and can't be got round?

Gus :)

I've tried three times to include a pic, and it doesn't want to play!!!

If you mean can you run the runners till they drop off as I recall there is a stop. I take it you want the runner system for your other seats.

Seats are a nightmare. 90% thinking, 10% doing.

So can you not just drop the new seats on to that frame???

I was going to say it looks like three big rivets hold the seat part but when I tried that on my Junior there was welding too. Arghhhhhhhh

Not sure how it'll work out until I get them, John, and that's not until next Tuesday....think maybe I'd better just wait a bit

Will search harder for the stop ;)

Gus :)

Gus, yes, I've done one of mine, bu**er of a job! Move furthest in one direction take the plastic clip off the end and look in the end you'll see a bare metal "carrier" holding a roller bearing. Trash it with whatever you can and the roller will fall out, do the same with the one at the other end (two rollers per runner). Just means you totally destroy the runner so you can't re use it, you can't really any way as there's 100mm difference in height between the Jimny runners.
My plan is to leave the bottom part of the runner bolted to the floor and bolt it to the bottom of the bottom runner of my Saab seats, with a 100mm spacer/box section/frame at the sill side. Hoping to have a go this week and will post some photos.

What are your seats out of?

On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.
