Master cylinder repaire kit? was created by Mart3971
Think my master cylinder is the cause of my brake pressure being poor. Have to press the pedal almost to the bottom before I stop. Anyone fitted a repair kit? I have a non abs model.

I had similar issues once and there was air there. Worth a try. Give the nipple a good soak with wd or similar first.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

The Jimny has dual circuit brakes. If one circuit has run out of fluid/is full of air the pedal goes down a long way before the other circuit works.
The nipple on the compensator bleeds the front brakes.
Excessive travel at the rear brake shoes will also cause a low pedal, possibly because the magic adjusters aren't working if the cables are too tight.
A failed front wheelbearing will give a pedal that goes to the floor first time you brake, then pumps up to the top with repeated application when stopped, as the wobbly disc forces the pads apart when you drive.
