After a hard days laning, how do you guys clean out the engine bay. I know you can steam clean but is it enough to get the baked on debris off?

Get the hose pipe to it.

Do NOT, NEVER EVER use a home jetwash, as the flowrate is so low, they are always on needle jet, and this forces water past the seals in the wiring connectors and bearings, then a few days later you are in trouble.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I know all about not pressure washing.

I used to use 'Gunk' spray and rinse it off. Just wondered how other people get theirs all shiny new. :-)

It is a Dire Warning in the owner's handbook of most motorcycles ;)

I just get the hosepipe on spray and wet any mud, leave it a while then wash it off. If I'm feeling rich, a spray with muc-off then a nice brushing and a rinse puts everything back to clean newness.
