Waffle Board Mounting was created by Dyl
I have a pair of waffle boards I purchased before I got my winch.

As I'm sure you are all aware, they don't really fit in the back of the Jimny without annoyingly hanging over the front seats!.

I'm considering mounting them to roof bars so I have them with me at all times so am asking how you think I'm best achieving this.

I guess I could just get a couple of straps to hold them in place, but I think maybe something like bolts will be a better option.

Would you suggest, for example drilling the roof bars and running a long bolt through it with washer, going up through the waffle boards then some type of large washer with a nut on top? This is not my field of expertise ;) so forgive me if this sounds naive! If this is the way to go, any recommendations on the size of bolts and nots I would need such as M10, M12 etc?

Alternatively, do people think it's just not worth carrying them, as I must admit, I never see anyone else with them strapped to Jimny's :)

Just use a roof rack and cheap ladder clamps.

What about attaching them to the spare wheel? That way you avoid having a roof rack to catch on stuff when laning.

On the roof (or outside anyway) is best, as once you've used them to rescue yourself from a quagmire of mud you won't want them inside then? ;)

I'm going to mount mine on my roofrack/treesliders as they'll then protect the hardtop section a bit too!
