Fitted a small (13") LED Light Bar this morning. Heavy item but appears to be well made. 16 x Cree 3 watt Spots with 30 degree focus and 8 x 3 watt Cree with 60 degree Floods giving 72 watts which is less power than my previous 2 x 150 watt halogen spots.

Will take the car bush tonight and see how effective they are but certainly they light up the garage much more effectively than the old spots.

Put a rocker switch in dash and wired LED's through through relay to this and the High-beam switch so that they come on when high-beams are activated or when the rocker switch is put to on position.

Headlights on low, LED's inactive

Headlights on High, LED's activated

1st time I've wired anything up, lol. Easily amused aint I?

Took the Jimny out into the bush tonight for a 2 hour cruise and the lights work brilliantly (Pardon the Pun) On the way I spotted a couple of Wallabies (Little black Kangaroo-like pests) and one Western Grey wandering along the roads but they were easily seen thanks to the flood-beams in particular so I am very happy, best $56 I've ever spent!

Looks great! Does it provide sufficient light for shooting do you think?
Would it have fitted within the recess in the front bumper above the number plate?

It would just fit 115mm. However, that might impair the cooling efficiency as the whole back of the device is about 20 alloy fins running from one side to the other. Spotlighting would be fine and the illumination into the trees is also magnificent but I prefer hand-held beam. We often go out into the bush as the Jimny ragtop is a very good base for standing up in when the rear seat has been removed like in my Jimny.

Thanks mate, the way I like to lamp atm is just using the headlights so both me and a mate can shoot from both windows of my hardtop. Be much easier with a soft top lol!

Re the recess people for winches in there so the light shouldn't affect cooling too much hopefully. Not sure whether to go for a 13 inch like yours or a 24.

The other option is fitting the light bar to a roof bar at the front of the roof but this wouldn't look as subtle but may through the light our further
