tyre preasure ? was created by handybutton
Hi all need some help! What are people running their tyre preasures at? Have read so many different preasures dont know which one to belive. I am running 215/80/15 on my jimny. I know tyre preasures dont go up just cause you get bigger tyres. I am running them at 27 psi at mo. What are peoples thoughts on this?
Thanks

Standard pressure for jimnys on stock 205/70 r15 tyres is 23psi front and 26 psi rear if that helps. Your tyres are bigger but you can always try it out and see how it handels

found standard pressures 23 and 26 best all round. higer pressures mean less rolling resistance but will wear the centre of the treads.

I'm running 235/75/15 with 24 front and 22 back. This is still a little high but good on the road. To calculate the correct tire pressure the best way is
1 trial end error find what you like best.
2 chalk the tire and make sure the contact area is correct
3 use tire pressure charts. Find the standard tire in the chart and cross reference the tire pressure to load rating, then use this info to cross reference your new tire size.
