Exhaust emission warning light was created by chalks
My ' emissions' warning light has come on and so far I have ignored it. The book says it can harm the system to ignore it. is this true? What triggers it and how can it be fixed. I have a 2002, cheapy runaround so nothing expensive! Any advice

True, I just find it quicker and easier for repeated use.

Also you can use it on other cars if you have access.

If its EOBD then it won't have the CEL option. You should pick up a cheap scan tool, they aren't much more expensive than a code reader and give far more information. Most of the failsafe modes will cause it to run rich will eventually damage the cat.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
