caught the jimny bug!! was created by 7775rich
Hi all, First post!!

Bought a 2001 green Jimny last week, love the little Jim

have already fitted a snorkel!

also fitted some new rear shocks as the originals were quire corroded

and started to wire brush and hammorite the underneath (as looked quite rusty)

missus shocked as came in last night looking like id done a shift down a coal mine!! :(

I found a couple of bad spots (behind headlight and near rear bodymount) should I worry about these are they gonna affect future mot? or can I just treat fill and paint?

also looks to be a small tear in the cv boot that is on the rear of the transfer box. Is this simple to change myself or do I need special tools ect?

many thanks in advance for any advice tips. :)

It didn't happen without pics! :)

Congratulations mate, they are fantastic little cars. Re the rust they all seem to have some. Have you checked the corners of the boot under the carpet and underneath the jack? My 2005 was rusty here so had a bodyshop cut the bits out and patch them. Well worth doing to try and halt the rust, otherwise the wire brushing and hammerite sounds about right!
