195/80/15 INSA Turbo Too much fun... was created by Global Nomads
Evening fellow enthusiasts,

With 1 month to go till we set off on our Mongol Rally, we have been tying together the last couple of things...

Today we said Goodbye to our Insa Turbo 195/80/15 - a ratio of 80:20 on Offroad: On Road has been hilariously good fun, no road nor route unsurpassable we have tackled field and mountain with these tyres- however, and it is a big however, their defect on MPG is surprising to say the least.

Alas, on a 16,000 km they just wont suffice and so, dear members, i ask your opinions on FUEL ECONOMY of a more down-to-earth wheel such as the 195/80/15 General Grabbers.

Are they worth the £80 inc fitting ive been offered or should i go for the All Terrains as suggested in a previous post?

Or indeed the BRIDGESTONE 195/80/15 for a little extra..

If you check out my thread on the tyres I just bought it shows a good difference in MPG. I went from Insa Turbo Sahara 215/75/15 to Hankook Dyna Pro all terrains 215/80/15 and my MPG rose from 27mpg to 33mpg. I got them from TyreLeader.com and they were £59 each delivered and I had to get them fitted for £35

That jump in MPG would make quite the difference when considering 10,000 MILES!

We are now looking at a 90% Road : 10% Offroad General Grabber or a remould Instaturbo Ranger 50:50 Offroad:On Road.....
