Hi, does anyone know if there is a supplier of robust rear door cards for hard top jimny? At the moment ours is protected, in the loosest sense, with plastic film and I think something a little more strong may be a good idea. Anything spring to mind?

You could make one in plywood, make it waterproof with some varnish and finish it off with a leather look type of plastic fabric.
Or give it a good coat of waterproof paint (both sides).
Put some sealing on the back of the panel and fix it with some screw's and washers to your back door.
Just a cheap fix, you also could get some rearpanel at a breaker (try j999pre).

I have yet to take the factory one off. Are you saying that behind the mouldings there's enough of a flat section to just fix a flat board to the door? I know there is the inner door release but we have yet to use that so that can be covered?

the trim on the rear door comes off really easy ...
unscrew the lock pop-up button thing
then insert a large flathead driver in the lower trim slots and gently prise off (pop - pop)
then simply work from the lower right in a clock-wise driection popping the trim off
you shouldn't break any clips
now you can see what goes on
you could fit anything you like

Cheers Halford - I've been looking at putting some ply on mine as the plastic moulding takes up a bit of room and I want to put a shelf on it for putting my stove on when making a nice cuppa on the Lanes of our fine country - when not being verbally abused by Ramblers that is!
