hi guys,
been having a few electrickery woes in my 2012 jimny (pre face lift)
as far as electrics are concerned, the car is stock with no tampering or adding of any electrical components.
the vehicle is still under warranty, but suzuki australia are doing every trick in the book to avoid fixing the problem.
so here goes.
i keep blowing windscreen wiper fuse. even with the windscreen wiper motor disconnected, as soon as i turn the key on it blows the fuse.
without actually activating the wipers,
also is blowing intermittently the door lock fuse, and my keyless entry isnt working.
on top of that, im blowing the tail light fuse every other day.
and the open door symbol on the dash will not extinguish, i have isolated the door switches to see which one, but it doesnt matter, it will not go out.
at my witts end, and need some ideas, am close to a can of petrol and a box of matches soo, car has 50 000km and i already have a major fault that suzuki are trying to duck, dip, dive, dodge and duck out of, yes ii said duck twice, as its twice as important.

if it was just one of those issues I would suggest looking at the device and the individual circuit for the problem however as so many areas are causing problems I would look a the Body control unit.. since it controls with most if not all of these items.
of course since its under warranty your on a sticky situation if you start to pull it apart yourself.. but a bit of looking might be a start.. could be a case that a plug is not quite fully in or the BCU got wet from a leak or over zealous river crossing
If you need me to take a look flights from the UK are frequent and relatively cheap and It will take a couple of weeks over xmas break to do.. I will do it for expenses only

try physically removing the wiper motor from the bulkhead as the housing forms an electrical feed - don't forget ...... Jimny's electricals are -ve (ground) switched, having a permanent +12V "live feed" supply with the -ve (ground) wire connected when needed to complete the circuit (earth switched)

so last tuesday i cracked the sads and flogged the car back to suzuki to fix their crap.
car is still there.
the rear windscreen wiper motor fried itself...... and all the wiring associated with the windscreen wipers, now im waiting for parts from japan, all the while these dogs are trying every reason to dodge warranty, like such favorites as this one " its because of the bull bar..." lmao wtf bbq?
im a truck mechanic, i turned up in my work attire, complete with grease and oil from head to toe, i burst out laughing and told them to honor the warranty or expect court action.
so as of today, its still " covered by warranty at the moment" ??? but if it isnt it will cost me " about $6500" lmao, over 25% of the total cost of the car brand new hahahahahahah
and i wont have the car back until next year around the end of february.....
obvious to say, as soon as this is over, the vehicle will be for sale and i will steer very clear of suzuki from now on (first brand new one, but 5th one overall)
which is a loss for them, as the wife had paper work done up nearly ready to buy a gran vitara from the same dealer my hunk of crap is sitting at now.
what this means is, i have no way of going sea kayaking over my xmas leave, yay.
f$%^ suzuki australia

further developments.
the car sat at suzuki while they tried to find a probllem/reason to make it not warranty.
they couldnt work out what had happened so i have the car back but now i must find the problem and send the offending part back to suzuki where thhey will decide if it is a anufacturing fault and either grant me warranty in the form of reimbursement for parts and labour.
so after a day of calling around australia, i was able to get a hold of a second hand wiring loom from a suzuki wreckers for stuff all.
i will throw this in and try and find the earth/dead short and repair it.
oon the plus side, the whells are in motion and while i had no car i was able to make a plan for a few exgtra mods later on once i have fixed this little hurdle.
cheers
