Weller wheels? was created by piprice
Hi all

Few weeks ago I picked up some weller wheels (I believe)

So far stripped one and a half (fronts) and nearly killed my drill and seems my wire attachments are getting blunt....
They where quite tatty and orange.. Also once been white, also seen grey and very bottom red....

Only cost £30,

Don't know what colour I should go seeing as my Jim is blue/silver with a black soft top...

Also any info on these wheels? Where they originate from and what the biggest size tyres I can put with 2 inch spring spacers with no rubbing?

I'm not sure they are wellers they look like sj wheels to me which I think are only 5 inches wide but you should be ok with 215/75's

Dang!
Ah well Atleast I've got some steel wheels!
Can't go off road with my triangles!

So is the 215/75 the max I can go with spring spacers / shock extenders and wheel spacers? Without the need off chopping arches etc?

What I'm after is a chunky looking mean machine whilst on a budget lol that can get me about with no issues

The Weller wheels I had did not have the curved rim edge.

Les Weller was famous for making the spoked deep dish wheels used on lots of kits and hot rods in the 70s and later, he also made batches of racing wheels popular on Anglias and Escorts with a circle of round holes in the rim. Still about as far as I know someone from the Jago Club was enquiring about getting a new batch made - from memory they make batches of 60 at a time

I've had a set or two of those 8 spoke wheels; as I recall from memory in narrow form they were Suzuki fitment and you can soon tell as they had Suzuki stamped on them. I go by the fact the face is flat. The hole was for popping the drums. Wider ones that were Weller, again from memory, have a raised ring running around the stud holes. I used them on LJs, SJs, Vitaras and Jimny.
