Insurance costs. was created by Jimny J
Im just curious as too what sort of prices people are paying too insure their Jimny's. Ive been driving for 10 years, got no points, 4 years no claims and im paying £800 a year with Tesco.
This seems quite high to me as its the same price I payed for my previous car, a 230 bhp honda prelude! But ive not found cheaper.

Can anybody recommend good people too speak too about insurance?

Another annoyance is my insurer wont cover my girlfriend too drive it, despite them insuring her the day she passed her test too drive the Prelude! Am I missing something here?

That does sound high. I've been driving 10 years, no points, no no-claims and I'm paying £500 on a standard Jimny. Are you fully comp or TPF&T? TPF&T was higher for me. I just went for the cheapest fully comp. on confused.com, which is with Swift.

That is high, I've been driving 2 years, no no claims (no accidents just named driver on last policy) and I've been quoted £900.
Shop about and see what you find. I use confused.com when getting quotes, they seem to be half the price of all the other comparison sites for some reason.

Been with Sky Insurance - www.skyinsurance.co.uk - for a while and they've always been very competitive - currently £400 for fully comp, 29 yrs old, 6 years NCB (had classic insurance before that, hence the slightly shorter NCB) £150 total excess.

Had some eejit drive into me in a car park & they were very good sorting that out too...
