Have a search on here im not the first person to do this swap,also have a look at my progress thread,took me a couple of days on and off.obviously if yours has the g series engine you will need to use a 1.6 from a grand vitara i think,plenty of info if you have a good search about.
im so lost as to what engine to go for now thought haha .. there so many once can pick from but i just want a easy nut and bolt job if atoll possible .. i have the 1999 single over head cam engine the engine is standard so what ever the engine code is for that its that one . if that helps atoll cause iv been looking for loads engines and searching but cant find anything . i dont mind doing odd jobs just cba messing with gear box and so on

G16bb from a grand vitara. You can use the same from a baleno but you will need to swap the sump and oil pickup pipe.
ok so the vit one gose right in no change of gear box and bull shit .. and if get one from the other car i need to change sump and shit .. looks like grand vit engine it is then lol
could some one send me a link to engine from the grand vitara just to be sure like say just want to know what im doing before go all in . best to check
