Might be just my bad luck but the readings for the temp were way off too.

Threw the thermometer in the bin (saved the batteries though as they were new! lol) and fitted one of these.


It was a bit of a disaster as the heat from the engine was travelling along the tunnel to the sensor. However, I was later able to run the sensor wire under the carpet and feed the sensor out through the drain grommet in the floor which I replaced with a cable grommet I had in spares.



Sealed it and tucked it away.




End result is a bit kitchenlike but I have checked the readings and they are spot on.

The sensor on that doesn't look to me like its waterproof.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

I have one just like it poking out of the house window, had it for years, still going strong. Nonetheless I have actually sealed this one off from the weather; it just doesn't show in the pic.

I merely just step outside and if Im freezing my nuts off chances are there might be some ice on the road :whistle:
