I decided to update my TomTom with a new start up picture. So I went onto the TomTom Home site expecting to down load a picture of a Jimny. All I could find was the Suzuki Logo. I could down load my own picture directly to my TomTom it would have to be 320x340 Pixels and saved as a 24 Bitmap. This would replace Filename ANTITHEFT.BMP in the root directory. Seems a lot of effort ! Does anyone know how to upload picture to the TomTom Home site?

Sad really, instead of being out there playing in the mud I am playing photos for my TomTom.
Well I got there in the end and it was easy.
Copy a jpg photo into Paint.
Reduce to 320x340 pixels (mine is a TomTom One) then CROP the image.
Save as a BMP.
Then copy onto the TomTom drive (Drive E in my case).
Close the TomTom down job done.
SLASH.BMP is the start up and ANTITHEFT.BMP is the close down.

I got really fed up with my TomTom. The routes bug me as well as the short battery life. And I have had mine for a while and even though I go online for map sharing I have been thinking I should get a map update. They even keep pestering me to spend money on map updates which cost as much as one of the "alternative technology" GPSs.
I was almost starting to think about using my Android phone but then I thought I'd try one of those "alternatives" for 40 notes and wow, am I impressed. :woohoo: I got the 7" one. I figured like Clough "If you are gonna have a boil, have a big boil."  It is massive, I sort of wish I'd got the 6" version as the Jimny is a bit smaller than my Mitsy but hey, it's great.

I have just upgraded my tomtom to a newer Start 25M
Got it in a set from Argos along with a carry case (£15), and airvent mount (£20) for £99.99 with lifetime map updates
Saw the same unit on QVC for that price minus the extras!
I'm hoping the airvent mount and the fact the actual unit is about half as thick makes it a little more storable in the Jimny
I had an older tomtom, from when the 'Live' service was just released. FARRRR to bulky for the Jimny and the live service was shocking, so i never actually signed up to it after the trial. Sold it to my brother
I also considered using my phone but decided against it
