The gv 2.0 is a good engine but thirsty and wont fit the jimny. Best get a liana 1.6 engine.
The GV is still one of my favorite most reliable motors I've ever had.

Can't you get a quote from a garage to do the head gasket - can't be that much surely - or if you can do an engine conversion, surely you can take a cylinder head off, take it to get it skimmed and out it back on again?
Otherwise a second hand engine from CamSuzuki would be easier and quicker than a conversion.
