As per the sales of goods act dealers cannot legally sell cars as "sold as seen". This does not get them off their obligations as a dealer to provide some come back to the buyer should there be issues.

I don't know if it makes a difference but they are not a car dealer, they are a dismantler who occasionally sells a vehicle that's too good to scrap. Therefore they probably have no affiliation with any warranty company and the only thing the Sales oh Goods Act will do is mean what they sell has to be fit for purpose etc. If it is when it sells but subsequently goes wrong it's not their problem.

Similarly if I sold a car and it was fine, if it broke down a week later I wouldn't expect to have the buyer ask me for recompense and they would be politely told they were not getting any if they asked.

Someone was recently telling me how bad a local car dealer was as they refused to pay for repairs to a car they sold which snapped it's cam belt within a week of being sold. I wouldn't either. It's something I'd expect to change asap after buying it if there was no evidence it had not long been done. It may be a haggling point for the price of the car and most dealers will sort it for you before you buy, even if you share the cost or pay all of it.

So just because they are a company and a car based one at that, don't assume they have too many reponsibilities.

Had a'lot of parts from Cam and they nearly always seem to have a jimny outside for sale quite cheap, but I know they normaly end up breaking then as they get more that way.

If it was from Kap then its more likely something thats been repaired after a smash.
