Hi i am looking at buying a standard 12" long quare 2" tubular hitch receiver however to fit it to the front of the vehicle do you just weld it straight on? is there any alternative?

You will need to support the hitch so that the weight/strain of any load is shared equally with both chassis rails. I would prefer to bolt it on by making up a steel framework and bolting that to the rails. Otherwise you may obstruct some vital parts permanently.

Are you installing the hitch to take a removable winch cradle like me or to attach a boat trailer for launching?
