How the jimny works is

The radiator is full of water.
When the engine heats up, the hot water expands so there is more volume.
The "extra" water goes to the expansion tank. (and the level rises)
When it cools down, the water goes back to the radiator.

So, when the engine is cold
Remove the radiator cap, and fill right up to the lower rim with coolant (50/50 antifreeze & water, or bought ready to use)
Replace the cap. and fill the expansion tank to the COLD line.

The level in the expansion tank may drop a little, as any air gets expelled from the radiator

As to the over heating,

Your radiator may be blocked with mud/dead things
Use a hosepipe not a jetwasher, spray the radiator from the fan side, and water should shoot out the front.

The fan belt may be lose/missing (but then the red light comes on)
The thermostat may be stuck
The radiator may have an internal blockage (replace it)
The fan may have missing blades
The viscous coupler unit to the fan may be faulty, usually the fan is very free and rocks from side to side.

Start with washing the radiator.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

No problem :)

In my post about the fan coupler, if it is working, the fan will turn by hand with some resistance, and won't rock from side to side.

If it is faulty the fan will spin easily and rock from side to side

Yes it could, or a host of other things.

If it only does it on long fast trips I'd start with overhauling the cooling system though.
