Being an 05 plate will the engine not be the VVT?

Thanks for all the cool advice. I think first thing I will do is change the spark plugs. One mechanic told me they had to be the expensive iridium plugs but I notice on the bigjimny shop that standard plugs are being sold. Can I stick standard plugs into my jimny.

Just had a look in the owners manual and it lists the engine as being a M13A (16 valve DOHC).

In the plugs section it lists either the iridium NGK IFR6J11 or the standard Nickel DENSO K20PR-U11. I only ask for clarification on the spark plugs as this problem is driving me bonkers and I don't want to go down the root of replacing every single item under the bonet.

Once again, all help and advice is much appreciated.

Thanks for the advice on Europarts. Yes I can get some Boach spark plugs for just a few quid, it's worth replacing them anyway isn't it at that price.

Be warned. You'll probably need to buy a thin spark plug wrench (Halfords - 5 quid). My tool wouldn't fit in the hole - too big!! Oooh Matron.
