Replacing radiator fan with electric was created by horam_jimny
Hi guys I'm thinking of replacing the standard radiator fan with an electric one with a cut off switch in the cab for wading and off roading. I've seen a kit on the Offroad Armoury site (pricey so would probably source bits myself) and they state by replacing the fan it may increase MPG and BHP as the engine isn't wasting energy turning the fan at high revs. Anyone done this and noticed any gains or is it a bit like fitting a KN filter where by you think it's doing a lot but actually doesn't make hardly any difference?

Hello, if you replace the standard radiator fan with an electric unit, I’m suggested install a thermo switch and relay for drive the fan.

With manual switch, you can forget to connect it and to damage the engine

Electric fan reduces noise, power consumption, and efforts on the bearings of the pump water
K&N filter.

After a discussion with friends, we test a jimny in the dinamometer ;)

with original air filter (new)

with k&n air filter (new)

The difference this inside the error of measure of the dinamometer

 I believe that it is good to decide the purchase
