O2 Soft Top Material was created by JivingDaddy
Greetings all you clever people.
I just bought a 2005 O2 for "she who must be obeyed". Does anyone know what material is/was used to make the soft top. I want to give it a good clean and put on some protector and need to check I get the right stuff.
Thanks.

Welcome JivingDaddy to the forum,
You will find that "she" is very wise and the 02 will prove to be a great purchase. Great fun in the winter and a roof to drop in the summer. My VVT softtop was purchased for me with influence from the other half (I wanted a hard top). Have to say i have never regretted the purchase.
The original material on the Mk2 hoods is a type of cotton duck material. I have used a mild water detergent watered down and used a scrubbing brush to get rid of mold and other marks. It worked well.
In the end I got fed up with the poor fit of the original softtop and went and brought a replacement, which was far more easier to put up and take down. Now the slightest sign of sun and the roof is down.
Check out www.monsoon4x4.co.uk/Suzuki_Jimny_Soft_Tops.htm
They may also be able to help in regard to other cleaning materials too.
Post a photo of your new O2. We love to see photos on the forum.
Read on and you might find temptation to put a few mods on the 02.
Happy Jimnying
Paul

Many thanks for the feedback Paul.
I was just trying to open the roof. Failed miserably. Can't get the clips to open. Now to the manual to see where I am going wrong.
Will have a look at the suggested roof replacement.
Pic attached if it works.
Cheers,
Peter
