Bloody typical always something to do after splashing out on the jimny

They feel a lot better than the standard bridgestones, on road at least, not worried about wet roundabouts now, LOL, also no noisier and gone up to 205/75/15 which i think gives a better ride :cheer: :cheer:

Nice one, I'm pleased you are finding the Grabbers an improvement too. It reassures me that I'm not just imaging the improvements as I feel much lore confident driving jimny, haven't noticed any more noise and I'm sure the ride is much more comfortable (not that I found it horrendous before, it's just better now. I think I'm the only one in my street that is looking forward to some bad weather this winter :)

Replace the king pins bearings on the off-side wheel with the kit I received from big-jimny-shop followed the how to on this site and had no problems carrying out the work. Used my stick welder to blob the races one at 10 o'clock the other at 2 o'clock came out with a few sharp blows using a punch and club hammer.

Gave the brake a clean and lub while as was at it. Took me 7 hours needed lots of tea-breaks.

Thanks Daniel,,,

There were three points I discovered, which might be helpful to others doing this on a 2009 model.
There's no need to remove the four bolts holding the disc backplate, as these are prone to be rusted a did round one off and had to cut the head off, but as I say it wasn't required, so wasted some effort there (unless I'm missing something) Also the seal for the drive shaft I tried all tools to get it out, It a tight space and slippery too, finally a pair of pump grips just nipped it and it pop out in a second (I used to call them footprints). One other thing on the end of the drive shaft there is a m8 threaded hole I used this to screw in a temporary bolt then pulling on it, brought the shaft to the right position to clip in the circlip.

Well done BGBrit, just had my kingpins done and used waterproof grease to hopefully help them last a little longer. It has definitely tightened up the steering. I hope you get your vacuum pipes sorted im guessing the terrain where you live needs it.
