Evening all!
It's been annoying me for awhile now the jimny is fitted with a 1.6 liana engine and seems to run fine but the exsaust is always smoking, not at oily smoke but the type you get on a cold day when the engine is cold? Plus the exhaust always smells like its running rich?
Have a look at the video to see what I mean - September Trial
I have had the emissions checked and been told there ok?
So what are your thoughts?
Cheers
Sam

looks awfully white which would suggest water getting into cumbustion
i would get a compression check done on it could be a pin hole in head gasket allowing very little water into cylinders
are you using coolant at all ?

I have topped it up the other day for the 1st time. It was about 1/2" below the cold fill line. It's has only done a couple of hundred miles in the last 4 months so if its using water it's only used a little bit.

I think your spot on with answer as I would describe the smoke more to be steam than smoke!

You often get a sweet antifreeze smell if its the head
Steam is normal on a cold day... along with water (condensation) dripping from tail pipe... but if its constant even when the engine has been warm for a while you could have an issue

It's pretty constant so I do suspect it's the head gasket with a very small leak. Another weekend project!
