Pros and cons of coil lift over spacers was created by Coletti
Hey guys, my truck is currently lifted using spacers, was just wondering what the good and bad points are of changing to a coil lift and do away with the spacers?

There's no bad about changing to a real spring lift. Using coil spacers is just a cheap fix if you want to fit bigger tyres. But you gain no extra suspension travel or anything. So it's mainly for the looks if you ask me.
With a suspension lift you get all the benefits. Better articulation and better offroad capabilities. But you may loose som onroad comfort. Depending on springs and dampers you choose.

I'll probably go for spacers due to budget and I wont be doing any hardcore off-roading anyway. And I will only want a small lift.
Then I could go for slightly bigger tyres (75's maybe).

Yes, ive been looking into the kit from bits4vits. 1.5" just gives it a better look.
Would also be interested in the pros & cons, do you need to extend brake lines etc?

Where do you think your Jimny will end up in a few years time?
If you think you will be happy with spring spacers and the slight lift they produce and some slightly bigger tyres to be able to do some reasonably gentle greenlaning and will still be hapy with this in a few years, they are the right thing for you.
If you think you might get caught by the bug and end up wanting it lifted 3-4" with 30-31" tyres, a rocklbobster, a winch etc... then you would be better to save your money up and go all out on an Off Road Armoury full lift kit with all the necessary parts included in it. Otherwise you will be wasting the money you spend on the intermediatery modifications that you end up removing and selling at a loss, or fill the corner of the garage with.
That's my opinion formed from experience (bitter experience) having bought a Jimny whilst owning an SJ, sold that Jimny, only to go and buy another Jimny which I have modified very heavily. I could have saved at least £1k on the purchase price of the vehicle, let alone all the stuff I've spent in the meantime that has come off and been stored / sold on.
