Did the jimny come with remote central locking?

Is it possible to retrofit this as an option? Actually, I assume it must be possible, but is it practical?! (Expensive, difficult?)

Mines the JLX so poss should have had it as standard. I picked up my non central locking new key from Timpson today as they had to order it, it works perfectly. May well call suzuki and see of they can check the original spec on mine to see if its got remote central locking and if so find out about a proper key for it.

Our car is a 2007 JLX+.

It came with two keys. One without remote buttons and one with remote buttons as shown in the picture.

We have lost the key with the remote buttons.

Cost of a new remote key and matching to the car by Suzuki approx £185 inc VAT.

Cost of a new non remote key from the dealer and matching to the car £85 including VAT.

Timpsons as advised will read the existing code off your existing key and cut a new one and write the same number to it. Cost £50 but usually at half price. The Jimny key blank is a non stock item at Timpsons and it takes a few days to arrive.

The Suzuki supplied key has a new random number therefore the dealer has to put it in the ignition and with their Suzuki box tell the car that it can trust the new key.

I have now two plain keys that work.

I bought a remote key off ebay from a scrap suzuki and accepting that the mechanical keyblade would be the wrong shape but hoped I could code the remote buttons to the car so far failing but will report back.

I’m sure I read that without the ‘chipped key’ the Jimny will not start so it is immobilised .....

I had an alarm fitted, cost me £150 fitted an that also locks/unlocks the doors when activated/deactivated, it also flashes my indicators wooo. 2000 x reg jimny
